  • 1 1/2 lbs round steak or stew beef cut into 1-inch or smaller pieces
  • 2 tsps olive oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 8 ounces tomatoes
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic granules
  • ½ cup dried minced onion flakes
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sea salt 
  • ½ tsp caraway seed
  •  ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 2 green peppers chopped into 1-inch pieces (or green beans)

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a 12-inch skillet until hot.  Cook and stir round steak in hot oil until brown, about 15 minutes; drain.  Add 2 cups water, tomatoes, and spices.  Break up tomatoes with fork.  Heat to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour.  

Add 2 cups diced potatoes and 2 green peppers.  Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.  

Serves 4-6
